Before I Change My Mind....
The honeymoon is over.

I've gained the "happy couple 10", which is a first cousin to the "freshman 15".

Yep. I made a mistake and before the wedding, I stopped going to Weight Watchers. I was burned out with it, frankly. I thought I looked OK in my dress. I was happy. But the other day I stepped on the scale and didn't like what I saw.

In fact, I stepped off, and got back on again
(apparently I thought I could "trick" the scale...)

I know what I need to do.
But I also know what I'm not doing.
What I'm not doing is exercising.

So....tonight I decided to download the podcasts for the Couch to 5K program.
Yes.
I'm going to start running.

Lord have mercy on my soul.

Oh my, better you than me.
Seriously, good luck with that. Now you really got to do it since you told the whole world. But true, that is a way to motivate yourself.
We'll be watching.

Hey I started that with a friend about a month ago. The voice prompts of when to run and when to walk are great. You are supposed to run 3 days a week, where as I have only been able to fit in 2, so we are moving at a little slower pace, but all in all good. Make sure you have a decent pair of shoes. I started with last years shoes from the walk and was having knee pain right away. One the shoes were worn out and two, they weren't the right shoes for my running syle (neutral vs support). Good luck! (And you did look great in your dress!!).

Its so dang easy to just kick back & be lazy after the wedding plans are all over... but hey, you got your man! haha!!!

Let me know how you like the running program! Dont get frustrated - hang in there! You'll be running races before you know it!!!

I must have found the Happy 20th Anniversary 10. I'm getting ready to step up my exercise.

First unsolicited tip on running--get good shoes. Do not shortchange yourself on the shoes. You'll regret it.

Yea you!!!!

I just started running too and am proud that I've managed to get over the fear of running. Bad thing is this heat makes it so hard to get out there sometimes! Good luck and keep us posted :)

Kelley - I have never considered myself a runner but I started with the Couch to 5k program last fall and I LOVED IT!!! I want you to remember one thing...the burning sensation in your lungs and the trembling legs WILL NOT LAST!!!! Seriously, before you know it, you'll be running without even having to breathe hard or feel like you're going to lose a lung. Hang in there, it will happen. And good for you :)
