Heaven in a Styrofoam Cup.....
This weekend the BFF and her husband have their annual Lawn Olympics. For the last 7 years, they have a party at their house with lawn games, grilling, drinks and friendship. I never get a chance to make it, but this year, I stopped by for just a little bit.
I got to spend time with the cutest 3 year old and her 10 month old brother.
I got to see the BFF's parents--who I just ADORE.
I got to spend a little time with the BFF.
It was lovely.
As I headed back to my neck of the woods, something caught my eye on I-494 heading west.
Oh yes, my friends. SONIC is in the Twin Cities.
And not just one....FIVE Sonic's. FIVE!!
You have no idea how happy this makes me. I have fond memories of going to Sonic while I lived in Kentucky, specifically for Happy Hour. And when you make only $400 a month and only get paid once a month, you count every penny at least twice. Sonic is quite the deal!
So today, my friends, I got my old favorite:
A large Cherry Limeaid.
It was just as good as I remember. Crushed ice. Lime wedges. Cherry at the bottom.
You can't get much more "summer" than Sonic.
I will need to go back soon because the cherry at the bottom is the best part of the Limeaid. Sadly, as I was trying to pour it out of the cup, it spilled out, into the kitchen sink, and into a pan that was soaking.

I'm never had Sonic... gasp!!!...
We only had one close to us.. & it closed down!
I'm a Sonic virgin... sad...
Oh, you must go NOW and replace the cherry limeade immediately or the limeade experience doesn't fully count! :) Congrats on the Sonic invasion. I broke down last week after inservice and broke my water-only mantra for a huge diet coke from Sonic. Next time I feel the walls come tumbling down, I'm going for the limeade!
I might have rinsed off the cherry.
When I was a teen my favorite Sonic treat was the Seven-Up float. Now, I regularly get the large unsweetened tea during Happy Hour. Darn metabolism.
I still have not been to one. They are a little out of the way for me but I am dying to try one of their milkshakes.
