I have to say that I'm a bit biased about my home state of Minnesota. I know that we're known as the "Land of 10,000 lakes", but I have to tell you that northern Minnesota is probably one of the prettiest places in the USA. I know when people travel to MN, they often hit the Mall of America (it is pretty cool), but I seriously want to encourage anyone who is thinking of traveling to MN, to consider going "up north".
There are so many things to do for free (or for minimal cost) that it would be a shame NOT to go up north.
Now that I've done my bit for the Explore Minnesota campaign, here are some pics from our trip to Split Rock Lighthouse.

It was very cold. Very windy. Very rainy.
But we went! And would go back in a heartbeat!

I agree - N. Minnesota is a gem not too many people know about - especially the North Shore and the BWCA
Gorgeous. And the lighthouse isn't half bad either. How long til you're 40? 15 years?
