Break Out the Vera Wang Wand...
What do you get when you have a 19 year old cousin, who is getting married in June, who decides that she wants red on her dress and a corset--like this...
With a halter style top, with a "collar". Like this...
With possibly some red in her veil. Like this...
But has decided that buying a dress is too expensive. So she goes to a fabric store (think the Midwest version of Mood from Project Runway...). Her aunts help her pick out fabric.

She wants to take these three patterns...
And all of this material (over 10 yards worth)...
And have my mom make her a dress.
What do you have?
You have a cousin who thinks that my mom is Vera Wang.
Or a magician.
Good luck, mom!

Oh my gosh... I'm so in awe of anyone who can sew (I'm gonna learn, I'm gonna learn) - but that looks like it'll be BEAUTIFUL!!! I especially love the idea of that corset with the collar... WOW... gotta put the finished dress up when its done...
I'm thinking hot glue gun and toille for that veil. Pretty!
I'm anxious to see the results. I love red, and I love it when a bride steps out of the box.
Oh my word!! Your mother must be a saint to agree to sewing for anyone! I rarely wipe the dust off my machine long enough to hem a pair of pants!! Best of luck to her!...
I can't wait to see the photo of the finished dress.
holy moley! your mom must be amazing to put 3 patterns together and not just make a regular dress, donchaknow...but a WEDDING gown!
can't wait to see it-----
Wow, good luck to your mom! But if your cousin thinks she can pull it off, your mom must have made quite the name for herself in your family!
