My Last Year in my 30's....
Yes. Today is my birthday.
And unlike most people, I'm finding that as I am creeping closer and closer to the big 4-0, I don't really find the need to celebrate any longer.

Sure, dinner and a few phone calls are nice. Birthday greetings on facebook are fun too. But I just don't get as excited about my birthday like I used too.

Is that normal?

I think since getting married I've started to look at things a lot differently...especially age. When my mom was 39, I was in high school. She was 40 when I graduated from high school. And ironically, that is the age that I still see my mom. As 40.

Actually, my mom is 60. The age that I still see my grandfather. He's actually in his early 80's. How is that possible?

So, it's hard to think about the fact that I'm getting older.
I can't stop it. The clock just ticked over to a new year on my body and there is no going back.

Does anyone else feel this way?
Am I the only one?

I TOTALLY understand what you're saying! I see my parents in their 40's still as well... but I'm going to be 40 next year too.. HUH? They're actually in their mid 60's...

I see myself still anywhere between 18-25 (depends on the day) ;)

Its all about attitude - right? Not the number!

So Happy 21st birthday! :)

Stop!!! You're killing me! It's your birthday for God's sake. I do enough thinking about my parents getting older as it is.
Please, be happier. Or at least fake it for me.
Rebecca Jo's right, it's all about Attitude. I only think about getting older when I look in the rear view mirror and reminded so. And also like RJ said, Happy 21st.
Your Friend, m.

Well, Happy Birthday! Or as Pooh would say, "Many happy returns!"

I think what you're feeling is normal. I'm the same way. Wait...that would make me normal. Hmmmm... Haha!

Have a great day, no matter the degree of celebration.

Oh I am sorry I missed your birthday! They do get different as we get older. To me...you are still a baby so enjoy!!! When I hit 40 it was fine. I was in a good place in life. A funny story as I turned 45. Driving down the street it hit me like a brick... oh f*ck I said out loud. I'm going to be 50 in 5 years. Then...it was different. But, so far the years have been full of living and that is what is most important. Not the days on the calendar but what we do with them! Have a great one!!!!
